Sustainable Scale Framework

Sustainable growth doesn’t come from working harder. It comes from repeatedly removing the one constraint that’s holding everything else back.

The question it answers

Where is the bottleneck in revenue operations that is preventing revenue growth?

Use it when
  • Revenue growth has stalled

  • Sales has high turnover

  • Forecasting is impossible

  • Lead flow has stalled

It’s the wrong tool when
  • Capacity is backed up

  • Fulfillment errors are high

  • Product-Market fit isn't confirmed

Sustainable Scale Venn diagram of Sales, Marketing and Systems. Sales alone: High Turnover. Marketing alone: Cash Grab. Systems alone: Order Taker. Sales and Marketing: Messy Growth. Sales and Systems: High Effort. Marketing and Systems: Lifestyle Business. All three: Sustainable Scale.

Where owners get it wrong

The biggest trap owners fall into is pushing to do more of what worked previously. At each revenue plateau, the business requires new capabilities. The dysfunctional patterns become more visible as revenue grows, so more of the same is rarely the solution.

What you walk away with

The solution is to add the key component opposite of the current dysfunction your business is exhibiting in the framework. As you increase that component (Marketing, Sales, Systems), revenue will start growing again, almost instantly. And each component can be added in small doses to see a meaningful result. Don't hire a CMO right away if nobody has been in charge of Marketing to this point.
